PREFACE

‘Knowledge Explosion’ and ‘information explosion’ are the terminologies used to represent the growth of knowledge. Knowledge gets accumulated; process of organizing knowledge available in different formats is the skilled work of knowledge workers. Librarian is the knowledge navigator. His task comprises principles and information technology to develop, deifies and utilize knowledge. Information tools are designed and developed to help the learning process in the education dissemination system.

With the changing technology and their induction in libraries, the librarians have to update their skill to cope with the situation. Hence the need of staff development.
