Some Rhetorical Features of The Quran:An Introduction to the Early Development of Ma‘ni———————————–مباحث کا مختصر تعارف—————————یہ ڈاکٹر محمد الغزالی کی کتاب ہے جو ادارہ تحقیقات اسلامی سے شائع ہوئی تھی اور قرآنِ کریم کے بلاغی اعجاز پر بحث کرتے ہوئے علمِ معانی کے باب میں مسلم علما کی ابتدائی دور کی کاوشوں کو نمایاں کرنے کے لیے قلم بند کی گئی ہے۔مصنف اس کی تالیف کی غرض و غایت بیان کرتے ہوئے تحریر کرتے ہیں:What we have attempted to pursue here is simply to find an answer to the following question: ‘what features of the Qur’anic text were found by our classic scholars to be constitutive of its miraculous status?(ہماری کاوش اس سوال کا جواب دینا ہے کہ ہمارے قدیم علما نے نصِ قرآنی کے وہ کون سے پہلو دریافت کیے جو اس کی اعجازی شان کی بنیاد ہیں؟)کتاب کے پانچ ابواب اور ایک خاتمہ ہے جن کی تفصیل حسبِ ذیل ہے:بابِ اول : قرآنِ کریم کے ادبی مطالعات کا ایک تعارفبابِ دوّم : بلاغت کا نظری نقشہبابِ سوّم : بلاغت کا کلاسیکی دور: چند بنیادی کاوشیںبابِ چہارم : علمِ معانی کے مخصوص اصولبابِ پنجم : بلاغی بحث کا ذروۂ سنامنتائجِ بحثپہلے باب میں قرآنِ کریم کے اعجاز کے حوالے سے عربی زبان وادب کے خزانۂ عامرہ میں مسلمانوں کے عظیم الشان حصے پر گفت گو کی گئی ہے اور عہدِ تدوین میں جو ذخیرہ وجود میں آیا، اس میں سے اہم کتابوں کا تعارف کروایا گیا ہے جو عربی زبان اور خاص طور پر قرآنی بلاغت کے باب میں اہم شمار ہوتی ہیں۔مصنف نے لکھا ہے کہ قرآنِ کریم کے اعجاز کا تصور صحابہ کرام میں موجود تھا ، لیکن بعد کے علما نے اس فن کو مربوط انداز میں بیان کیا ہے۔ اس فن کے نشو وارتقا کے حوالے سے بتایا گیا ہے کہ ’اعجاز‘ یا ’معجزہ‘ کے الفاظ شروع میں مستعمل نہ تھے، بلکہ دوسری یا تیسری صدی کے آغاز میں متکلمین کے ہاں نمایاں ہوئے۔قرآن اس مقصد کے لیے آیت کا لفظ بولتا ہے۔اعجازِ قرآن پر تصانیف کے سلسلے کا پہلا کام محمد بن یزید واسطی کا إعجاز القرآن کی شکل میں ہے۔ علمِ تفسیر کے ارتقا کے ساتھ اعجازِ قرآن کی بحثوں میں مزید پھیلاؤ پیدا ہوا۔ دوسری صدی میں قرآن کے ادبی اور لغوی پہلو پر زیادہ توجہ دی گئی اور چوتھی صدی اس تشکیلی دور کا ذروۂ سنام ہے۔اس دور میں مصنفین نے عربوں کے طے کردہ معیاراتِ شعر ونثر پر خصوصیت سے توجہ دی اور معانی، بیان اور بدیع کی اصطلاحات استعمال کی گئیں۔اس عہد کے مصنفین میں ابو ہلال عسکری، ابن سنان خفاجی، عبدالقاہر جرجانی، جاراللہ زمخشری، عبداللہ ابن المعتز، قدامہ بن جعفر اور ابنِ رشیق قیروانی ہیں۔ مصنف نے اس باب میں سَکَّاکی، جُرجانی، رُمّانی، باقِلّانی، جاحظ، رازی اور دیگر حضرات کے علمی کام کا ذکر کیا ہے۔تیسرے باب (بلاغت کا کلاسیکی دور: چند بنیادی کاوشیں) میں مصنف نے بالترتیب جرجانی، باقلانی، خطابی، رمانی، زَمَخْشَری، رازی اور سکّاکی پر گفت گو کی ہے۔اس گفت گو میں باقلانی کا ذکر خطابی سے پہلے آیا ہے، جب کہ وہ زمانی ترتیب کے لحاظ سے بعد میں ہیں اور سابق مصنفین کے کام سے استفادہ کرتے ہوئے انھوں نے اس بحث کو مزید آگے بڑھایا ہے۔اگرچہ مصنف نے لکھا ہے کہ :Though chronologically he [al-khattabi, d. 388 AH] is prior to al-Baqillani but in terms of impact and influence, the latter is more prominent. Hence he was mentioned first.(اگرچہ تاریخی ترتیب کے لحاظ سے وہ (خطابی ) باقلانی سے مقدم ہیں، لیکن اثرانگیزی کے اعتبار سے ثانی الذکر زیادہ معروف ہیں، اس لیے انھیں پہلے ذکر کیا گیا ہے۔)تاہم کتاب کے ذیلی عنوان (The Early Development of Maani) کے پیشِ نظر یہی مناسب معلوم ہوتا ہے کہ خطابی کا ذکر باقلانی سے پہلے آتا، کیوں کہ کسی چیز کا ارتقائی اور تدریجی مطالعہ تاریخی ترتیب سے کرنا زیادہ انسب ہے تاکہ یہ بات واضح ہو سکے کہ کس دور میں کسی خاص فکر کے کیا خدوخال رہے ہیں اور بعد والوں نے پہلے لوگوں کی تحقیق کو کن زاویوں سے آگے بڑھایا۔کتاب کا چوتھا اور پانچواں باب فنِ بلاغت کی تاریخ کے بیان کے بعد بلاغت کے مباحث سے متعلق ہیں۔ چوتھے باب (علمِ معانی کے مخصوص اصول) میں فصاحت وبلاغت کی تعریفات اور بلاغتِ کلمہ کے مفہوم کو واضح کیا گیا ہے، جب کہ پانچویں باب (بلاغی بحث کا ذروۂ سنام) میں علمِ معانی میں زیرِ بحث آنے والے جملہ امور ( اخبار وانشا، قِصَر، فصل و وصل، ایجاز، اطناب، مساوات) پر جامع گفت گو کی گئی ہے۔ ان مباحث کی وضاحت میں زیادہ تر مثالیں قرآنی نصوص سے اور کہیں کہیں عربی اشعار سے دی گئی ہیں۔کتاب کے جملہ مباحث عربی کتب میں مل جاتے ہیں، تاہم انگریزی زبان کے قاری کے لیے یہ کتاب علمِ بلاغت کی تاریخ اور علمِ معانی کے نمایاں مباحث کے تعارف کے لیے عمدہ ہے، البتہ اس بات کا احساس ہوتا ہے کہ انگریزی زبان کے قاری کے لیے مسلم روایت میں پروان چڑھنے والے علوم کو معاصر فکر کی کوکھ سے پھوٹنے والے جدید علوم کے تناظر میں پیش کیا جائے۔ چناں چہ علمِ معانی کی بحث کو Semantics اور Semeiotics کے مباحث کے ساتھ مربوط کر کے انگریزی قاری کو یہ دکھانے کی ضرورت ہے کہ کس طرح عربوں نے ان فنون کو اتنے مربوط انداز میں پیش کیا ہے کہ لسانیات کی یہ جدید شاخیں ان سے استناد سے مستغنی نہیں ہو سکتیں۔پہلے یہ بات ذکر ہوئی ہے کہ مصنف کے نزدیک اس کتاب کی غرض وغایت یہ ہے:What we have attempted to pursue here is simply to find an answer to the following question: ‘what features of the Quranic text were found by our classic scholars to be constitutive of its miraculous status?(ہماری کاوش اس سوال کا جواب دینا ہے کہ ہمارے قدیم علما نے نصِ قرآنی کے وہ کون سے پہلو دریافت کیے جو اس کی اعجازی شان کی بنیاد ہیں؟)تاہم یہ کتاب علمِ معانی کے مباحث تک محدود ہے اگرچہ قرآنی اعجاز کے بیان میں علم بیان کا حصہ بھی کچھ کم نہیں ہےاسے بھی کتاب کا حصہ بنایا جاتا تو بہتر ہوتا۔اسی طرح علم بدیع کی گل کاریاں بھی کلام کو ایک حسن بخشتی ہیں۔ ان پر بھی ایک طائرانہ نظر ہونی چاہیے تھی۔ -
